In 2017, Bageeya was founded on a simple but radical idea: that fashion could be made without waste — and without apology for being beautiful. Seven years later, that commitment runs deeper than ever.

♻️ How We Achieve Zero Waste:

Temple flower upcycling: In our quest for sustainability, we have established a unique practice of collecting post-puja marigolds and roses that would otherwise be discarded after religious ceremonies. These vibrant flowers, which symbolize devotion and purity, are repurposed as dye materials for our textiles. By transforming what is typically seen as waste into valuable resources, we not only honor the sacred intent behind these flowers but also create beautiful, eco-friendly dyes that infuse our products with rich colors and meanings. This process not only reduces waste but also fosters a deeper connection to the cultural significance of these flowers, allowing their beauty to live on in our creations.

Fabric remnants: In our commitment to minimizing waste, we meticulously collect offcuts and remnants from our garment production processes. These seemingly insignificant scraps are transformed into a variety of innovative and stylish accessories, unique home décor items, and intricate patchwork elements. By ensuring that nothing leaves our studio without a purpose, we embrace the philosophy of creative reuse, turning potential waste into cherished products that tell a story. This approach not only reduces our environmental footprint but also encourages a culture of creativity and resourcefulness within our community, inspiring others to see the value in what is often overlooked.

Dyebath reuse: Our dedication to sustainability extends to the way we manage our dyeing processes. We utilize plant-based dye baths that are carefully crafted to extract vibrant colors from natural materials. Rather than discarding these dye baths after a single use, we employ a method of reuse, allowing them to be utilized multiple times at decreasing concentrations. This practice maximizes the extraction of every drop of pigment, ensuring that we make the most of our natural resources. Once the dye bath has reached its final use, it is then composted, returning nutrients back to the earth and closing the loop in our production cycle. This not only exemplifies our commitment to zero waste but also highlights the beauty of natural dyes, which can be both vibrant and sustainable.

Packaging: In alignment with our zero waste philosophy, all Bageeya packaging is meticulously designed to be entirely plastic-free. We utilize cloth bags made from natural fibers, which are not only durable but also reusable, providing our customers with a sustainable option for carrying their purchases. Additionally, we incorporate seed paper tags that can be planted, allowing our customers to contribute to the environment by growing new plants instead of discarding packaging. Our natural fiber wrapping further enhances this eco-friendly approach, ensuring that every aspect of our packaging can be composted or reused. By prioritizing sustainable packaging solutions, we aim to inspire our customers to join us in the journey toward a more sustainable future, where waste is minimized and every product serves a purpose.

At Bageeya, we measure success not just in garments sold, but in waste not created. Every piece you wear is a vote for the world we want to live in.

Join the zero-waste movement at bageeya.in 🌍 Full soul. Zero waste.
